Learning how to catch fish in saltwater is one of the easiest, yet one of the most difficult things to do. There are many different sea fishing techniques and finding the one that suits you best can be a challenging task. Also, there is different fishing equipment suitable for each fishing technique. But if you are a beginner, you definitely need some help in choosing the right sea fishing equipment. So let’s explore together the sea fishing gear every beginner must have.

Sea-Fishing

Sea Fishing Tackle – Fishing tackle refers to a whole set of fishing equipment, including hooks, lines, sinkers, floats, roads, baits, lures, traps, nets and other. As a beginner, you will need an all-around sea fishing tackle that can be used for various techniques. You can use your beginner fishing tackle for pier fishing, harbor fishing and beach fishing. However, you should know that one set doesn’t fit all. It is important to match your fishing tackle with the type of fish you are targeting.

Fixed Spool Reels – There are many different types of reels on the market, but for a beginner, a fixed spool reel is a great starter. With a line wrapped around a fixed spool, this type of reel is easy to use. For best casting efficiency, you will need to keep the spool well loaded with line. However, fixed spool reels have two forms of drag: front and rear, which adds resistance to the spool. To prevent drag slippage during a casting action, a front drag spool reel is a better choice, while rear drag sea fishing reels are ideal for spinning set ups.

Fishing Lures – If you don’t want to use live fishing baits, lures are your best fishing alternative. Take your fishing lures with you on every fishing trip and use them for some serious fishing. However, there are many different types of fishing lures and your choice depends on the type of fish you are targeting. If you want to catch big fish, you need bigger lures.

Fishing Rods – While there is no such thing as a fishing rod for beginners, there are some fishing rods that work perfectly for fishermen with no experience. As well as choosing any piece of fishing gear, the rod you need depends on the fish you will be catching. For catching heavier and bigger fish, you will need a highly durable and longer rod to handle the weight. A lighter fishing rod can be ideal for hunting smaller fish from a closer range. You should identify the fish you are targeting before you buy you fishing rod.
