As the weather becomes warmer, we are all looking forward to spend more free time outside. So, is there a better way to enjoy beautiful, sunny weather than to have a great backyard cookout with your family?
Outdoor cooking is a trend that’s become even more popular during the past few years. So if you are serious about outdoor cooking and spending quality time with your family, you might consider designing a patio and adding things that can spruce the space up so it could be enjoyable and functional at the same time.
Adding a built in barbecue, especially as a part of an outdoor kitchen can provide you with an alternative cooking area without any hustle and bustle. So, if you are considering to invest in a built in bbq, here are some tips that might help you to make an informed decision.
If you love cooking outdoors, you’ll need a designated area where you’ll feel comfortable while preparing delicious meals for your family. However, in comparison to other types of grills, only built in barbecue can be customized to complement your cooking needs. For example, you can add drawers and keep all your outdoor cooking utensils outside; burners and many other accessories that can make your cooking more convenient.
Some built-in barbeques come with a sink, allowing you to easily clean up after the meal. You can even create an entire outdoor kitchen and put a beautiful teak dining table at the middle and create a lovely relaxation spot.
Compared to standalone grills that can be severely damaged by strong wind and rains if left outside, a built in bbq may withstand harsh weather conditions, even hurricanes without being damaged, because it is a part of the actual patio area. So, after the storm passes, you can comfortably and safely use it again and you won’t need to worry about replacing it.
However, if in any case the grill is damaged, you will have to do maintenance services that as to ensure that the built in bbq can again function normally. You can sometimes repair the grill by yourself and that means you won’t have to pay professionals to carry out that task.
Cooking can be hectic in and of itself, add to that the need to constantly run into the indoor kitchen to get the items you forgot and you’ve got a recipe for stress right there… With your customized grill built-in patio, where you can add drawers for the cooking cutlery, outdoor cooking can become a lot easier and maybe even turn into one of your favourite activities. Moreover, you can build a mini kitchen with a dishwasher so you can clean the mess right after dinner without making any inside the house.
Adding a built-in grill can boost the value of your home and if eventually you decide to sell it, you could increase the asking price and get a high return on investment.
Most built in barbeque grills are made of stainless steel which means no matter the season, they can withstand any outside conditions without being damaged. Stainless steel is very simple to clean and lasts for a long time.
Gas grills are easy to light, they heat up faster than other grills (like charcoal ones) and are ready to use in about ten minutes. You can turn on a gas grill just by pressing a button and you can easily control the temperature, unlike charcoal grills where you need to move hot coals around in order to reduce or even out the heat.
So, if you are preparing delicate food like vegetables or seafood, if you don’t pay attention, it can be easily overcooked or burned on charcoal grill. On the other hand, gas grills can be turned off by pressing a button, allowing to cool off and then easily scrubbed down.
However, there are some things you need to consider when buying a gas grill. Before using it, make sure the propane tanks or the natural gas lines are properly installed and maintained. They can be less affordable than charcoal grills, but since you buy a built in bbq once in a blue moon, if you decide to buy a built-in gas grill, it is advisable to look for a brand such as Artusi, Gasmate, Gasmaster, Broil King or Beefeater which are reliable and offer great quality and unique features to enhance your backyard grilling experience.
These types of built in barbeque grills are often cheaper options comparing to gas built-in barbeques. However, they can typically reach higher cooking temperatures than gas grills and can add nice and smoky flavour to food. Anyway, they are harder to light and take longer to heat up. It will take around 30 minutes to get a good, even roasting going. As for the cleanup, it might take you more time and effort than cleaning up a gas grill, because a charcoal grill needs to cool completely and be emptied after each use.
No matter which one you choose, a built-in grill would be a great way to get everyone in the backyard. It can be a perfect excuse to go outside and spend some time in the fresh air instead of sitting in front of the TV, playing video games or checking social media.
