They are labeled in different ways with toy grade being labeled RTR which stands for ready to run. This means that the model you have chosen is ready to be operated usually with electric power. Hobby grade models usually need to be assembled and will most likely run on gas or nitro; they come at higher prices but their durability really is unbeatable. If you are someone who is really passionate about remote controlled cars then hobby grade is probably what you are looking for; if you are just wanting to have some fun with the family then a toy grade remote controlled car will do just fine.
